Aleisha Reynolds is a graduate student in the Mississippi State University Department of Anthropology and Middle Eastern Cultures (AMEC), earning her MA in Applied Anthropology, specializing in Bioarchaeology. She earned her BA in Anthropology and Medical Humanities Certificate from MS State in 2022. Her research explores ecosocial understandings of health and disease through intersections of sex, stress, and structural violence experienced by anatomized individuals with syphilis in pre-antibiotic era Cleveland, Ohio. She is interested in how studies of structural violence can be leveraged to advocate for ethical research with human remains, medicolegal health parity, and social justice.
