Visit Us

If you are a prospective MA student, please feel free to visit us! We would be happy to welcome you to Mississippi State University and show you around. Please contact the Office of the Graduate School at MSU and the AMEC Graduate Coordinator (Grad@anthro.msstate.edu) to set up your visit.

We will also have a two-day, in-person and on-campus visit on January 16th to 17th 2025 for prospective graduate students to meet faculty and current students and tour the campus and program facilities. The in-person visit for prospective MA students will start with dinner in Starkville on January 16th (arrive on January 16th) and conclude with dinner after a full day of on-campus in-persona activities on January 17th (depart on January 18th, no scheduled activities on this day). You can find the schedule for the event below.

If you plan to attend this in-person and on-campus visit, please email the AMEC Graduate Coordinator (Grad@anthro.msstate.edu) by or before January 13th 2025.

We are also offering mini-travel grants to partially support the cost of travel to MSU and Starkville for the in-person visit (January 16th - 18th) to students with financial need. You can apply here.

If you have any questions about attending the two-day visit or visiting campus at another time, please get in touch with the AMEC Graduate Coordinator by email, Grad@anthro.msstate.edu or by phone at (662) 325-2013.

If you are an international prospective student or are unable to visit MSU in person at this time, we will have three online 'open houses' for the graduate program in January and early February. In each open house, you will be able to meet AMEC faculty and current MA students and ask questions about the MA program, MSU, and life in Starkville.
